Q.  How do you join squares that are the same size but different patterns so may have a different number of stitches?

A.  What I do is go by measurments. I will take stitch markers and mark of every 3/4 inch, then join where the stitch marker is. (make them closer together or farther apart according to your tastes.)  (Source)
