Here is the written pattern for part 1:

using a 4mm hook ch 12

Rnd 1:
3hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook
hdc in the next 8
6hdc in the next
hdc in the next 8
2hdc in the last
sl st to join in the top of the 1st hdc

Rnd 2:
ch2, dc in the same space
2dc in the next 3
dc in the next 7
2dc in the next 7
dc in the next 7
sl st to join in the top of the 1st dc

Rnd 3:
If doing the double sole, work in the back loops
(for this round only).
If doing the original style, work in both loops.

Ch2, hdc in the same space
hdc in the next 40
sl st to join in the top of the 1st hdc

Rnd 4:
Work in both loops from now on for both styles.

ch2, hdc in the same space
hdc in the next 40
sl st to join in the top of the 1st hdc

Rnd 5:
ch2, hdc in the same space
hdc in the next 12
hdc2tog in the next 8
hdc in the next 12
sl st to join in the top of the 1st hdc

Rnd 6:
ch2, hdc in the same space
hdc in the next 14
hdc2tog in the next 4
hdc in the next 10
sl st to join in the top of the 1st hdc

  1. The first round isn’t making much sense to me right now. By looking at the written instructions for it, you would have to start out by doing more than 12 chains. Twice take stated to do hdc in the next 8, which by itself equals 16 plus the two dreaming as well as the original two you had to skipp for the 3rd chain from the hook. Doesn’t add up.
