1. Flower Power Valance by Robin of Once Upon A Pink Moon. Gorgeous pattern that uses half flowers and full flowers for this curtain. There’s a beautiful photo tutorial to help you with the curtain making and also a couple of video tutorials.

I used Sugar & Cream and Peaches & Creme yarn in various colors in addition to other various brand cotton yarns that I had.  Unfortunately I cant tell you how much yarn I used because I already had a lot of different colors in my stash.

2. Colorful curtain by Ioana van Deurzen of  Zaraza Crochet. If you’re one of those people who think that crocheted curtains look like a lot of work, try this pattern. It’s simple enough and easy to follow. This is a curtain pattern for cats lovers or any other pet owner  for that matter.

For some reason cats like to stare out the window, and our cats are no exception. To maintain the problem (lets face it, is not that I can do anything to stop the cats doing what they want) I made this slightly shorter curtain in three colors: brown, green and orange. The pattern used is very easy (I already posted the diagram here), works very fast, watching television is not a problem 🙂

3. Butterflies in Flight Valance by  Hartmut Hass .  Lovely pattern with butterflies design.

4. Crocheted Curtains by Sue Norrad. This is a quick, easy, and darling pattern that comes out splendidly! It’s simple to adjust for any width of the window and very easy to make any size you want. The great part of this curtain pattern is that you can watch the sky and the trees and daydream if you want and still keep your privacy safe.

This pattern will take some work on your part to determine the size, as there are many different sizes of windows.
Note: These curtains are worked lengthwise, from side to side, they are are not worked from the bottom up or top down.

5. Diamond Lace Valance by Josie Radier.  This is a delicate pattern featuring diamond lace. If you want to bring elegance to any kitchen window, this is the pattern you need. This pattern is free but website registration is required.

6.  Star Flowers Valance by Josie Rabier. Another great and so appropriate kitchen window pattern.This pattern is free but website registration is required. 

Fresh as a daisy, white motifs form an edging for this charming valance that will go with just about any style of decor. Size: 43″ x 17″.

7. Blocks Curtain by Bernat Design Studio. This is probably, one of my favorites. It’s a beautiful, more dense looking kind of curtain that fits and dresses well other windows in different rooms too. Beautiful curtains great for any balcony windows as well.

8.  Big Bold Chevron Curtain by Tamara of Moogly. This curtain is great, simple, easy to make, and very versatile. It’s been made to serve a different “window’s purpose” however, it’s easy to make so it would fit a kitchen window.

The Big Bold Chevron Curtain pattern almost ended up with the name “Emergency Chevrons,” because they were the answer to a little emergency I discovered when we first moved into this house. The window in the master bath faces the neighbor’s house. And while the bottom half of the window came covered in privacy window film, the top half was clear as can be – and Geoff and I are both significantly taller than the previous owners! Yikes! The Big Bold Chevron Curtain was the answer!
