We all like quick and easy patterns, the more blankets we can make in a shorter time, the better! The satisfaction when a blanket is done and ready to be gifted to a dear one, to a charity or simply used by ourselves, is truly rewarding on itself alone.

This cute fleece blanket with lace edging is cozy and quick! The beautiful blanket edging is Queen’s Lace edging, and the video tutorial below courtesy of New Stitch a Day is going to demonstrate how to crochet it and create that gorgeous lace edging so you can add it to your blanket.

The pattern for the blanket is a tutorial with general descriptions on how to cut, lay out, and crochet edges to the fleece squares, and then join the squares.

Materials
• 1 yard of fleece fabric for a 3 x 3 blanket with 12 inch x 12 inch squares
• 2 skeins of Bernat Softee Baby (362 yards per skein), any colors that match your fleece fabric will work. Two colors, one for the square border and another for square joining and edging looks nice.

Supplies
4.5 mm Crochet Hook (F)
Skip cut rotary cutter blade (same size as the rotary cutter)

  1. I’ve got a dresser full of fabric scraps…going to try this with some velvet leftovers and use a small blanket for the underside
