If you've been searching for the perfect baby blanket pattern to crochet while binge-watching your favorite show, this is it! The Superbly Simple Baby Blanket by Heather C Gibbs is one of those rare gems — an easy, elegant stitch pattern that memorizes itself after just a few rows, leaving your hands busy while your eyes stay glued to the screen. It works up quickly too, with a lovely lacy look that feels far fancier than the effort it takes.
Whether you're crocheting for a new baby, donating to a charity, or just looking for a relaxing project that breaks the monotony of traditional granny squares, this blanket delivers. The best part? You can size it up or down simply by adding or reducing rounds — no complicated math required! I keep coming back to this pattern again and again, and I think once you try it, you will too.
This simple crochet baby blanket is an easy to follow pattern great for beginning crocheters to use for their very first crocheted afghans.
Worked in double knit this lightweight blanket is easy to memorise making it a perfect pattern for relaxing hooky time! However you may use any yarn type and hook size of your choice with this pattern (it's that simple) so no need to worry about meeting a specific gauge.
Make it a baby sized blanket, as shown, or go as big as you like by simply adding more rounds! The addition of a simple border finishes off the blanket nicely. This pattern is my new favourite go-to blanket; as it's an easy pattern it works up quickly – what more could you ask for!?

What a wonderfully simple pattern! This is the perfect afghan to crochet in the colder weather when you need something quick, easy, and almost mindless. The stitch repeat is beautifully rhythmic — after a couple of rows your hands just know what to do, making it ideal for cozy evenings on the sofa.
This simple blankie is a joy to stitch! It's interesting enough to hold your attention while being easy enough to memorize. Once you make one, you'll want to whip up several more as baby shower gifts — trust me, everyone will ask you where you found the pattern!
Yarn: Weight #3 / Double Knit 4 x 100 g / 1200 m / 1300 yards Unfortunately I only counted the total amount I used for the blanket but if I had to estimate on how much you need of each colour I would say I used 100g of the grey and 150g of the yellow and white.
Hook: 4 mm / US size G
