Shaded Squares Crochet Free Pattern

I made my blanket with Sirdar Country Style DK (155 m / 50g), using 3.5 and 4.5 mm crochet hooks. The

bigger hook is for the coloured squares and the smaller one for the edgings. There are 48 squares in the finished blanket, each measuring about 14 cm or 5″². The blanket is about 117 × 81 cm (46 × 32″). The pattern could be worked in other weights of yarn, just adjust the hook size to suit, remembering that you will need a smaller hook for the edgings.
