  • 3mm crochet hook.

In Pattern Stitch, 12 st * 12 rows = 2.5″ * 2.5″ (6*6 cm) 

ABBREVIATIONS 

This pattern is written using standard US crochet terminology. 

  • Ch = Chain(s)  
  • Sc = Single Crochet 
  • Dc = Double Crochet 
  • Fpedc = Front Post Extended Double Crochet 
  • Bpsc = Back Post Single Crochet 
  • St(s) = Stitch (es) 

Special stitch instructions 

  • Extended Double crochet (Edc): Yarn over the hook, insert hook in the desired stitch,  pull up a loop (now you have 3 loops on your hook), yarn over the hook, pull through  one loop, yarn over the hook, pull through 2 loops, yarn over the hook, pull through  the last 2 loops.

Instructions

Start with ch 25. [Multiples of 11 +3 (as a height)] 

Row 1: dc in the 4th ch from hook, dc across the row.  

Row 2: ch1, turn, sc in the same st, sc in the next 2st, skip next 2st, dc in the  next st, ch2, dc in the same st, skip next 2st, sc in the next 6st, *skip next 2st, (dc, ch2, dc) in the next st, skip next 2st, sc in the next 6st*, repeat * until reach the last 8st, skip next 2st, (dc, ch2,  dc) in the next st, skip next 2st, sc in the last 3st.

Row 3: ch1, turn, sc in the same st, *turn the work, fpedc in the next dc, turn the work again, 5dc  the next ch-2 space, turn the work, fpedc in the next dc, skip next 2st, turn the work again, sc in  the next 2st, skip next 2st*, repeat * across the row until reach the last ch-2 space, turn the work, fpedc in the next dc, turn the work again, 5dcin  in the next ch-2 space, turn the work, fpedc in the  next dc, skip next 2st, turn the work again, dc in the last st.

Row 5: ch1, turn, skip next fpedc, bpsc in the next 10st, *skip next 2 fpedc, bpsc in the next 10st*,  

repeat * across the row until reach the last fpedc, skip last fpedc, sc in the last st. 

 Row 6: Back to the first color, ch1, turn, sc in the same st, ch3, fpedc in the fpedc 2 rows down, * Skip next 2st, sc in the next 6st, skip next 2st, skip next fpedc, fpedc in the next fpedc 2 rows  down, ch2, fpedc into the skipped fpedc 2 rows down*, repeat * across the row until reach the last  10sc, skip next 2st, sc in the next 6st, skip next 2st, fpedc in the last fpedc 2 rows down, ch2, sc  in the last st.

Repeat using the same sequence until reach the desired length.
