Here is a beautiful crochet stitch you can use to make a delicate summer shawl or a filigree summer top. The name of the stitch is Big Fan Stitch and is brought to us by eliZZZa.

Big Fan Stitch

Cast on in a multiple of 16

Pattern Repeat is 4 rows.

Create a SC border for 4 rows at beginning and at the end.
Row 1: CH1, SC into 3rd ST.
CH5, Skip 2, SC in next ST.
CH5, Skip 3, SC in the next ST.
CH5, Skip 2, SC in the next ST.
CH3, Skip 2, SC in the next ST.
(16 stitches used)

*CH3, Skip 2, SC in the next ST.
CH5, Skip 2, SC in the next ST.
CH5, Skip 3, SC in the next ST.
CH5, Skip 2, SC in the next ST.
CH3, Skip 2, SC in the next ST.*
Repeat * to * until last repeat.

CH3, Skip 2, SC in the next ST.
CH5, Skip 2, SC in the next ST.
CH5, Skip 3, SC in the next ST.
CH5, Skip 2, SC in the last 2ST.

Row 2: CH3, DC in first ST.
*CH3, SC in the middle CH of the first CH5-loop.
9 DC in the next CH-loop.
SC in the middle CH of the next CH-loop.
