Cool-looking hat! I love the looks of this crochet hat; this is one of the nicest crocheted hats I’ve ever seen. I bet it’s really warm, too. These hats are done by using fpdc/bpdc stitches which are done just a bit different than you may know. The Just Groovin' Beanie pattern by Kathy Lashley is so simple yet so gorgeous and can be used to make beautiful women hats and men hats.

The Just Groovin beanie uses the bpdc/fpdc stitches with a twist to the bpdc stitch. Come learn a new technique to create this cool “wavy” hat!

It’s truly a warm, textured hat using these stitches which is perfect for the winter weather!

There is a video link included in the pattern to better understand the bpdc technique used in the pattern.

  1. Would it be possible to get a pattern for this stitch for right-handed people? The video tutorial is for left-handed people and as far as I can tell, it’s not the same for righties. Thanks

  2. Shannon, tto get the free patterns you need to click the name of the pattern featured in the article. The pattern’s page is linked always to the name of the article. It:s like this: This ……..(name of the pattern) designed by…..(name of the designer)….. It’s usualy in the first paragraph and the name always starts with capital letters , followed by the name of the designer Also there is only 1 line under the name of the pattern Click on that link and you’ll get to the right page. Hope it helps.

    1. I tried to follow your directions for this free pattern, but when I click on the name of the pattern, nothing happens. I would love this pattern, any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

      1. Never mind, I was trying to click on the wrong name, I found it. Please forgive me. I am good to go. Thank you for the pattern.

  3. why should we have to jump thru hoops just to get to a pattern….they sure don’t want pople to have it…..so hae click here now click here …for what so you can catch a hacker somewhere….not for me…either post the pattern direct or DON’T offer it

  4. It’s a free pattern that Daily Crochet has found and shared! If you have to jump through a hoop or two, get over it! If you don’t want to see ads then by all means quit whining and go to sites that charge for the pattern so they don’t rely on ads to help them share their craft! I am simply disgusted by the way some are acting. Be grateful. If this is all you have to complain about in life then drop to your knees and thank the Lord because millions would give anything to be in your place. Carry on…
