Have a baby shower coming up soon?  This blanket is stunning and I love this soft yellow color and the stitch pattern in it. The Diamond Stitch Baby Blanket by Olga Poltava is a super simple pattern that works up fast once you get the sequence down. This blanket is worked using Snuggly Wuggly Big by Loops and Threads and the finished size is 38 by 35 inches.

I can see it being used as a lap blanket also. This pattern looks quite lovely and elegant in any color.

  1. I do not fully understand this pattern can anyone help me…I am just now learning to read patterns….when it says when it says dc in the next 9 stitches `12 times …I am lost but that is easy for me to do

  2. If you look at the top of the pattern, it says after “ch 127 loosely) that there will be 12 pattern repeats. I’m assuming Row 1 has you stumped. “Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook, *ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next 9 ch* 12 times, ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next 2 ch.” – That means to dc in 4th ch from hook, then ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next 9 ch… notice the *. Repeat from * to * (ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next 9 ch) … and the number of times behind the * so it’s repeat 12 times for the pattern. Once you have repeated, then ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next 2 ch. Row 1 completed. Make sense?

    1. Jennifer, the pattern is always linked to the name of the pattern. Please click the words: Diamond Stitch Baby Blanket. Hope it helps!

  3. I have made two of these just recently…very easy pattern and beautiful! Crocheted one in white and the other in yellow!!

  4. I couldn’t find the actual pattern. When I tried the link it took me to the designer’s page. On there it says this is the free pattern for the day, but I couldn’t find the actual pattern. Does anyone know where it is?
