Add some really nice braided texture to your work with this Jacob's Ladder Stitch which you will learn how to do it a little bit different than the traditional way. The video tutorial below, courtesy of Donna Donna Wolfe from Naztazia will teach you how to crochet this stitch with neat chain loops that look like braids. The pattern is really easy, you'll only need to know how to make a chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and double crochet.

Supplies needed for the sample.

Worsted weight yarn.
I’m using worsted weight yarn, which is a number [4] on the label. You can use any size or weight of yarn that you wish with this stitch pattern.

Crochet hook in Size H 5 mm.
Because I’m using worsted weight yarn, I’m using the recommended hook size of a USA H, which is 5 mm. If you are using a different weight of yarn, just use whatever hook is recommended for that yarn size. You will oftentimes find this information on the yarn label.

Scissors.
As always you will need a good pair of scissors, especially if you are changing colors frequently. This will help to cut your yarn.

Yarn needle.
Yarn needles are important to weave in ends after fastening off the yarn. There are so many yarn needles on the market, I’m sure you will find one you like! My favorite are the flexible Susan Bates yarn needles.
